Hello dear friends 🙂
For all of you who know me, you have probably heard me in the past complaining about prices in London and how EVERYTHING is so expensive and how fitness isn’t any different and blah blah blah… Well after this post you ‘ll see why I had to change my mind a little 😉
So a few weeks ago I was given the opportunity to try out a new fitness centre here in London called The Castle. You ‘ve probably seen me mention this place in previous posts so in case – especially for my London based friends – you are wondering what the heck is it, well… Here it is!
The Castle is a leisure centre operated by Everyone Active and it is an AWESOME place!
They have a gym – even though it isn’t huge- it is brand new and totally well equipped! They have a swimming pool, a badminton course, two studios for pilates, yoga, cycling and other classes AND the best part? They are affordable! Have a look at their prices here and I promise you Londoners you will not be disappointed!
I totally love how this place is a fitness centre but also has a sense of community! It is very conveniently located near the Elephant & Castle subway stop which makes it totally accessible!
Also, by now you are probably very familiar with the fact that I HATE THE TRACK! So the Castle has been a life savior when it comes to speed work! I mean look at that 😉 A digital track?!? I totally don’t mind 🙂 LOL!
Oh and last but not least… changing rooms! Like, I can not tell you enough how impressed I was! Have a peak and you ‘ll see what I mean!
Clean, new, nicely organized! And if you don’t have a pound for your locker, you can always ask at the reception and get a token!
So all and all here is my rating for the Castle:
Equipment: 5/5 – EVERYTHING is brand new and the variety is really big!
Cleanliness: 5/5 – squeaky clean!
Staff: 2/5 – I was a bit disappointed by the behaviour of some of the staff and if I had any complains about the place that would be it but I might have just been unlucky I am sure that not everyone is the same…
Location: 5/5 – very central near the underground
OVERALL – 4.8/5
So, do I recommend this place? TOTALLY! and guess what? If you live in in the Southwark borough you can use the centre for free a few times a week! Check it out here 🙂 I will definitely keep my membership going!
*Disclaimer: I did receive a complementary membership in order to try out the facilities and review the service, however this is, as ALWAYS, my OWN personal opinion.
