#5 Saturday eats

Hi friends 🙂

Welcome back to the “Bizarre Habit” dinner series! This weekend was all about relaxing for us. It is one of the last weekend before our visitors start coming and we decided to take it easy, binge on TV series and enjoy good home-cooked meals (ok ok and a small frozen margarita flatbread 😉 )

So here is our “Italian” style Saturday dinner, through and through @mymamus approved – wouldn’t dare to share it other wise 😉

So what do we have here;

We decided that after a hard working week we could treat ourselves to some wine and garlic bread, yum yum yum 🙂

As a main course, a Caprese side salad on a bed of spinach leaves topped with seeds and balsamic glazed chicken breasts with mushrooms.

Welcome back to the “Bizarre Habit” dinner series.

Dinner was very (like, VERY !!) yummy last night. Even though it looked like “what to do with your veggies when are about to go bad” kind of dinner, nothing wrong with that right?!?!

You can never have to many veggies in my opinion!

So what do we have here?

  • roasted root veggies and a slice of roasted butternut squash
  • veggie frittata – with cheery tomatoes, spinach and eggplant – topped with 2 avocado slices
  • lettuce and chicken salad with light balsamic vinaigrette
  • slice of bread for @mymamus
  • lemon water! We are big supporters of lemon water around here. It’s so refreshing and makes it easy to get your H2O in every day!

#3 Saturday night eats

Hi friends,

“Bizarre Habit” dinner series is back 🙂

Saturday night eats were yummy! Baked sweet potato loaded with BBQ pulled chicken and a side of broccoli. The perfect recovery meal after a long run.


As for me, my wild Saturday night includes snuggles on the couch and binging “Orphan Black”. Have you seen these series?!?! Pretty crazy stuff! We started last night and now we are hooked! As you can probably tell we both LOVE sci-fi series!!

# 2 Wednesday night eats


Yet another post in the “Bizarre Habit” dinner series.

Around this part of the woods lately we have been in a big roasted carrots mood. I started cooking carrots like that just a few weeks ago, an Oh my who would have told me that they are so yummy and delicious (and so good for you with all their vitamins & good stuff). I either toss them with olive oil and rosemary or in a mixture of olive oil, balsamic vinegar and honey. They are always a great hit in our dinner table (well technically its our coffee table but it works for now 😉 )


Another staple in this house is salads. Big, loaded, healthy and oh so tasty salads. No seriously we LOVE them a whole lot around here. If it wasn’t for me that i do like to switch things up with food, @mymamus would have a salad for diner e-v-e-r-y night!

Last night’s hit was Caesar’s salad. Just tossed some lettuce with rocket, sweetcorn and grilled chicken, and since we were out of croutons i just toasted 2 slices of bread and cut it in little pieces and there you have it. Oh and of course an easy, light dressing to top it off. Just mixed a little mustard and white vinegar with parmesan cheese (yummy yummy!) and then added 2-3 tablespoons from my staple favourite homemade mayonnaise.

Dinners are usually simple around here due to heavy workloads but we always try to keep it interesting and healthy – without spending tons of time in the kitchen 😉


#1 Christmas Brunch & Dinner 2015

Hello there! Welcome to the first of the weekly posts on our “Bizarre Habit” dinner series!

I thought it was appropriate since christmas was just here a few days ago to start with our Christmas “dinner” setting!

First of we started the day with Christmas brunch and of course we couldn’t not have bloody marys along side 😛

Pastry braids filled with cheddar, scrambled eggs and lardons (fatty bacon pieces) and sausages!



And then later since we (unbelievably) got hungry again, i whipped up a pretty cheese platter for us. Yes, the bottle on the right is some (very extremely) strong alcohol …. Ahem, the next morning was challenging! On a happier note those cheeses are homemade cheddar that we bought from the christmas markets (post is coming soon!) and those on the left are homemade dinner rolls (recipe is coming soon too!!)
